  having seen a few of these tv productions and some youtube clips of their assembly parts, how can jehovah's witnesses really take these silly little men seriously?.

  you take one look at them; their overweight, fat little bodies.

  their entirely shabby, overhanging suits.

  The other day my sister told me her church house 13 families (single women with children). How would the conversation go???

  Let's pick Michael Moore for the moderator.

  (Moore) Mr Clergy how is your church giving back to humanity, charities.? (Clergy) We house 13 families,the men in our church feed the homeless,we provide scholarships,after school tutoring, and we feed the homeless in out church basement. (Moore) Mr GB member, same question. (GB)We offer free bible study, so with our publication and bible study you will become a productive member of society. If you don't work you don't eat. (Moore) Mr GB what about the children, they are to young to work. (GB) That's the parents fault. We are preparing people for paradise. Why do you think we knock on your doors our carts on the streets, this world is doomed. Our WT and Awakes are the best thing for mankind today

  Reaching out vs opportunist in your congregation.

  i really believe paul was a opportunist, we only have paul's words that christ chose him and the conflict and out right rejection and animosity between paul and several of the disciples chosen..i knew a few brothers that were opportunist, they didn't give a crap about (supposedly) jehovah's organization.

  most i knew were trying to do the right thing, but the paul's disciples were a different breed.

  one way you could tell when there is a problem in the family this brother is never called but if you have a grudge against someone you call paul's disciple, a hard ass for jehovah..... paul may have been the most sensible character in the bible but when he mention he was bitten by a poisonous snake and healed himself, well i wonder..

  i figured i'd shut the site down for a couple of hours to encourage everyone to do their xmas shopping.

  the error message was a subtle hint, that's what "500 error" means ... go shopping.. whatever rumours you hear, it definitely wasn't that someone deployed a quick update before going on a 1.5 hour car ride to pick someone up and didn't think that the page they tested, to check it was all working after the update, happened to be cached.

  no siree bob, not that, na hah.. anyway, you're welcome for the extra chance to, erm, shop..

  Disassociation - shunning - can we all lobby Government that it is against freedom of religion?

  if jws want to inflict shunning on members who want to remain -- knock yourselves out.

  but if someone wants to leave - dont believe in an evil almighty god, bible ...or just dont agree with the rules- they should be free to leave- even after being 'disfellowshipped'.

  i think it was pre 1980 that you could disassociate yourself without shunning repercussions.

  We have laws, buying a car , home, medicine and etc. to protect the consumer. Why not mandate laws for religious organization and cults, they must spell out before you join what will happen if you leave. This will protect both parties, no way a person can come back and say i wasn't aware I could lose my family. If a contract is put before you before you join, it may make you think this is serious I better read the fine lines.

  according to the last paragraph of the article entitled "escape from slavery—then and now" (wt#2, 2017).

  jehovah god felt grieved by the harsh treatment of israelite slaves in egypt; he must feel the same way about similar injustice today.. .

  if you call modern slavery "injustice", wasn't the slavery during moses time also "injustice"?

  blondie:"because the Law regulated it". I knew a sister who told me she attend the meetings when blacks were told to sit in the back, it was the law. I was shocked , not Jehovah's organization. That when I began to have doubts. They are cherry picking when to abide by the law....
